Das fällt also leider raus 😔
I'd rather not replace the box temporarily. I'm not that good a mechanic 😅
Having the bed disassembled was a thought I had, too.
Thanks for the tips!

Can we please stop using the term "Wife Acceptance Factor"/WAF when it comes to technology and/or hobbies? It's sexist AF.
It assumes it's always the wife who's technically less literate, who has (implicitly unfair) ux demands & who's in the way of the husband's fun.
If the problem is something being too nerdy for the other people in your household, maybe use "household acceptance factor"/HAF?
If the problem is a lack of communication about purchases or hobbies - learn to communicate FFS.
Having a conversation in the back channels right now about how we should treat it when people use the word "#autistic" as a pejorative. Obviously, it's #ableist language, but it's too rampant to enforce a rule on it.
I realized though that it passes a few of the tests for being considered "#HateSpeech", namely that it holds the entire group accountable for the actions of a few people who happen to be in it, especially for something that is far from specific to autistic people. In the particular case we are looking at, it involves political speech, which is even worse, because that can progress into an argumentation that people with #autism should be limited from political #representation.
We're still discussing it, but I wanted to publicly state, the widespread use of the word "autistic" as a pejorative is a problem, and we need to start thinking about the implications of it, and what we want to do about it in the #fediverse.

Someone can have a bad take, or be expressing their frustration and overgeneralizing, and it doesn't mean they deserve to be dogpiled, attacked, excised, or blocked.
It is also true that two people can take away different _narratives_ or _readings_ for the same set of facts, with neither interpretation being "right" or "wrong," simply perspectives.
It is also true that certain generalizations are more tiresome or harmful and indvs should always feel empowered to prioritize themselves.

Paris mayor drops f-bombs on anti-LGBTQ+ critics of Olympic opening ceremonies -
But while the ceremony organizers have denied any intention to recreate “The Last Supper” or offend others, Hidalgo was much more blunt, saying in a recent interview, “F*k the reactionaries, fk this far-right, f*k all of those who would like to lock us into a war of all against all.”
Limited-federation networks
Super stoked that @oliphant@oliphant.social started ION, a limited federation network that uses allow lists instead of deny lists.
If there's one thing that we know so far in light of these recent discussions about moderation, is that we don't know what the solution is, nor whether a one size fits all approach is even feasible.
There will always be communities who value reach above all, and there will be other communities (especially marginalized ones) to whom limited federation has great appeal.
This is a wonderful experiment, and I wish them all the best!
