Ah it gets better. His literally pinned post is anti codes of conduct, anti diversity, anti “political activism” which we should all understand means human rights

A screenshot of a pinned post on X:

Don't use, don't promote, and don't contribute to, software that is concerned with
• Codes of conduct
• Political activism
• DEI and similar stuff

Just use, promote, and contribute to software that is concerned with
• Features
• Bugs
• Design

Trans rights are human rights.

Boost if you agree.

Block me if you disagree.

Good news everyone! We hit our first milestone: maintenance is 100% funded. Thank you all ❤️

Next up: unlock the stretch goal to co‑design federated groups: community‑owned spaces to organise across the fediverse, with no server or platform lock‑in.

Read about why this matters and how it can empower communities: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/why-community-matters-groups-as-the-next-step-for-the-fediverse/

Unfortunately my rage is already maxed-out so I can't assign this the full quota of anger it deserves 😡

Dear Women's Institute: if you don't represent trans women, you don't represent ANY women.

There is nothing in the law or recent ruling that compels any organisation to exclude trans people. There is always another option:

- redefine your membership requirements
- join with other orgs and fight this in court
- close the organisation

All these are preferred to this.

Humanity really needed librarians to own Internet Search, not venture capitalists.

Bonfire isn’t easy to pin down, and that’s the point! We seek to enable a tapestry of social spaces, all built from shared building blocks but diverging in flavour, practice, and purpose.

We gathered a whole collection of answers from across the fediverse:

20 days left to contribute to @bonfire ! Let's help fund the #Fediverse and support some #Developers so they can keep investing in US!

Something I have difficulty explaining but is critical is spending time learning things that are not useful. I spent so much of my early career learning things that would never be useful. They were dead ends.

But they were not. They were contextual and it all comes back in the end. And you just have to live your life to see how it does. That isn't a satisfying answer. But I'm so glad I wasted so much time.

Recent discussion about the perils of doors in gamedev reminded me of a bug caused by a door in a game you may have heard of called "Half Life 2". Are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin.

A Combine soldier threatening with a baton, in front of a door. Which one is a greater menace in gamedev?

Instead of doing the game jam this time around, we've been making some interesting new demos! And here's GoblinShare: Secure, Peer-to-Peer File-Sharing with Goblins https://spritely.institute/news/goblinshare-secure-peer-to-peer-file-sharing-with-goblins.html

Combining Goblins, OCapN, and encrypted content addressed storage!

Back the campaign to unlock Federated Groups!

Self-governed groups with their own rules, roles & shared moderation across servers. Interoperable with PieFed, Mbin, Mobilizon, Friendica, etc.

Co-designed with @hci @hello and communities such as activist collectives and research organisations to reimagine groups when communities own their tools, can set rules, moderate spaces, and connect beyond single servers.

And if you're wondering why I had not mentioned Ladybird, this is why:

As I'm bumbling around reading about @bonfire 's offerings and finding a way to play with it, I was reminded that Bonfire is the tech behind the pilot community at
https://openscience.network

Since that "flavour" of the Bonfire framework has been in action for a while, and I'm connecting up with academic and particularly climate science folks out on our webs today, I thought some of you might find it worth a look for escaping Google Scholar and various walled publication ecosystems.

We made a post + video about bringing gifting groups into the fediverse. Please boost if you like the idea 😊

Datenschutz, Rechtsgrundlagen, Menschenrechte: alles offen. Und die US-Frist 2026 ist unrealistisch.
Kurz: Die EU verhandelt gerade über den größten biometrischen Datenexport ihrer Geschichte – mit unklarem Ausgang.

Meet @adrigen and Lee: Buy Nothing admins co-designing our Mutual Aid Networks stretch goal. Their video and article reveal why gifting communities need more than "Facebook groups but federated", they need infrastructure built for proximity, self-governance, and generosity.

Cat's out of the bag:
FEX, an emulator I've been working on these past 4 years, is going to be part of the Steam Frame to bring x86 Windows games to an ARM Linux VR headset! 😊

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmKrKTwtukE&t=205s

Really happy to have been part of the journey and of the team that got FEX to where it is today. Can't wait for the release and community reception!
